About the Hotel
Doron Yakobovitz, and Michael Yadid – joined forces to establish the hotel, carefully preserving the historical elements of the building in collaboration with Jerusalem’s preservation department. Together, they oversaw the creation of the chef restaurant and café, ensuring a seamless blend of tradition and innovation.
The building itself has a storied past. In the 1930s, it was home to “Café Rehavia,” one of the first modern cafés in Jerusalem and a vibrant social hub for locals and new immigrants. Renowned for its high-quality baked goods, the café was a meeting place for Jerusalem’s intellectuals, cultural figures, British military officers, and Mandate officials.
The hotel’s interior design, blending preserved heritage with bold and modern elements, was crafted by the Machneyuda partners in collaboration with the “Studio Mokomi” architecture firm, led by Sharon Siton and Yaacoub Tannous. Historic photographs from the early days of Rehavia and the British Mandate period adorn the hotel’s rooms and public spaces, creating a connection between the past and present.
Ramban Hotel is a harmonious combination of timeless elegance, historical significance, and the vibrant, innovative spirit of Machneyuda and the nearby Mahane Yehuda market.
